Today was such a good reminder that God gives us days of refreshment in the midst of a season full of hard work, conflict, and duties that don’t seem to lessen.
That’s not to say that I’m not working or skipping ministry on these days of refreshment, but it means that I do something out of the ordinary that I would typically say that I’m too tired to do or my “to do” list is too long.
Nolan had suggested going to see Captain Marvel after we went out inviting people to church. I had to babysit that evening, but I went ahead and made it work. I’m glad I did! I had a great time taking the kids to get pizza and eating in front of the fountain of life before the movie. I need to stop under estimating time out in the community with friends, family, and nature. It’s so rejuvenating and it also pulls me out of a deep hole of stress that I sometimes allow myself to go in to.
Ultimately, a quiet morning with God is what changes everything! Prayer and God’s Word is what changes my entire perspective and attitude. This needs to come before any other activity.
I hope some of the things I’ve shared are an encouragement to you!
Are you avoiding going out into the community because of your busy schedule? Allow God to lead through out your day. He knows what you need!
Make time to have fun!
With love,
Mackenzie
