My parents decided to attend a church in Santa Clarita on our to Washington. It was an absolute blessing to be a part of Freedom's Way Baptist Church today! The people were very welcoming to my family, and their love for the Lord was evident. So many smiling faces, beautiful singing, and sweet fellowship. I love visiting other churches and getting ideas for our own church back in Cathedral City. It's always fun for me! :)
Both messages for Sunday school and the main service this morning was a blessing and a conviction. God was working on my heart this morning about being bold with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how I am a "debtor" to all the lost. The lost deserves to know what I know and I need to tell them. Jesus Christ SAVES and FREE'S us from the bondage of sin and Hell! That is something to share with everyone and yet, I can get so distracted. Don't allow the devil to distract you.
"Romans 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
Pastor Cook shared these points that I would like to share with you.
Being a Christian does NOT mean;
• You will be problem free
• Worry free
• Joyful and happy
• I will have a great life down here
• Family and friends will love and accept me.
Praise God it does mean this down below!
Being a Christian means;
• I am passed from death unto life
• Serving a different LORD and Master
• My sins have been forgiven
• Your agenda is not as important as God's agenda
• A peace that passes understanding
In Sunday school I heard this quote and it is very true.
"to believe is to obey"
How many of us aren't obeying God, because we don't have enough faith to believe in the Word of God?
Thankful for Pastor Cook and his family's faithfulness in service to God. It was a real blessing being here and now we are on our way to the beautiful state of Washington.
