The Parrot Story: God Knows Best

Matthew 6:8B “ ...for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” Matthew 6:32B “... for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.” VBS was great this year! I must say I am a little biased/sentimental toward some of last year’s characters and themes but we had a blast this year. I praise God for answered prayer. One of our many prayer requests was that no one would get injured during VBS and that was answered! We prayed for God to be glorified, the gospel of Jesus Christ to be preached, and for growth from the children. It was a real blessing to see children return this year and be a part of all the fun. It doesn’t feel like it was even that long ago since we had seen them all! I also saw some exceptional growth in one of our boys who received Christ last year as his personal Lord and Saviour. He even was voted the Bible Voyager of the Week! Which says so much right there. He also had asked me for the link to the song the children lear...

The Right Man

Psalm 107: 8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! The Right Man.    The above note was the first promise I made to God before I knew how to spell "marry" or correctly apply proper grammar. I wrote this in my white King James Bible that I had received for Christmas. I had no idea at that time of the struggle of waiting and enduring temptations as a young single girl. I always assumed I would meet the "right man" during my teen years or the bible college years and get married in my early 20s. Those days passed with many times that I would hope and pray only for God to close the door as I asked The LORD if the guy wasn't the right one to shut it tight. Sometimes, I would foolishly try and reopen doors that God had closed. Sometimes, my fingers got smashed as God shut the door. Other times, I would be relieved that God had clarified that certain guys were not the ones. I'd always pray and seek th...

A Bomb Threat, Vomit, and a Lioness

Audio version:  Read by Mackenzie Let me tell you about a week that held complete victory over unthankfulness and bitterness. A week with a bomb threat, conflict that had to do with a lioness, and practicing thankfulness while cleaning up vomit. May I encourage you to journal your days. Whether it just be a quick recap of something God did or a novel that I am sure some of you book junkies can write(you know who you are). It just helps you retain whatever it was that you would like to reflect on and remember. Why, if it wasn't for my journaling... I would have never remembered that all three of those events happened in the same week! In fact, I did forget until I opened my journal a couple of days ago! It all started with a journal and a prayer... I was invited to sing at a Ladies Christmas party and it was there that I met my present day piano teacher/mentor. She is truly a lady who loves Jesus! I always feel encouraged as a christian every time I visit with her. We get s...

Remind me, dear LORD.

Where to start. Revival, spiritual amnesia, car accidents, salvation, fellowship, discouragement, temptation, joy, and all of the above. Let's start with our special guests! Mrs. Esha's family from Texas sang in our church on Sunday! Their family is always a blessing to have around. The fellowship is always so sweet. I love getting together with other people who love the Lord and have a love for others. It's so rejuvenating! Bro. Bobby Harjo Family, Missionaries to the Navajo Indians, ministered in our church on Sunday as well. They have been serving the Lord and spreading the gospel there in the Four Corners area since 2001. Here's a video of their ministry:  Reaching the Navajo They were a huge blessing! Bro. Harjo preached for all our services that day. The messages were so challenging and a good reminder that I don't come to church to worship God to see what I can get out of it or experience, but to worship God for who He is and what He has alrea...

Yielding to God's Design: Part Two

Hey everyone! We hope you enjoy this second part of last week’s talk! We wrap up our conversation talking about trusting God with children and knowing that sometimes there will be hurt that we cannot stop and shouldn’t stop. God uses all experiences of life to draw us into a closer fellowship with Him. A special thanks to my mom for taking the time to do this video with me! Have a blessed weekend everyone!!
